Another promising ZEV

Drove to work behind this sucker. Looks v. tasty Modec commercial vehicle the website describes the spec:

Modec is a zero emission commercial vehicle:

  • zero emissions
  • zero noise
  • zero congestion charge
  • zero operator licence
  • zero road tax

A Modec can do:

  • up to 100 mile range
  • 50 mph
  • 2 tonne payload

Recharging is simplicity itself. Just get out, plug in and go home.

Tesco, Center Parcs, Hildon Water and many other major companies have already introduced Modecs to their fleets.

So... yeah, now the question is who do I get to convert my gs?

Day-dreaming of my electric GS

You know, the more I think of it the I think sorting out an electric conversion for my GS couldn't be that difficult...

June 2009 will mark the first running of the TTxGP Clean Emissions Grand Prix Race at the famous Isle of Mann TT circuit.

Hydrogen fuel cells begin production chez Honda

So they've finally done it :-)

Strangely, this is the the first revolution I can think of where the very rich are leading us in the right direction. If Spielberg or Katzenberg want to refuel their Honda hydrogen car you can be sure these guys will buy it, build it and bend the ear of local planning authorities until they find themselves able to easily obtain plentiful supplies of liquid hydrogen by the roadside...

This is getting interesting, Tesla began regular production of the 2008 Tesla Roadster three months ago.

I keeping my eyes peeled for EVs in the UK.

A good read on EVs

Another great blog centred on the electric vehicle thing. Mygreenwheels - Journal - Whisper it - the inflatable electric car for less than $3,000

And it looks a damn site nicer than this one too;-)

You could ride a bike?

Or move to France and get yourself on one these puppies

Clean my ride. Flex my fuel.

So yeah, Hollywood worthies are saying flex my fuel.

The guy looks interesting and I'll try and see the flick but this American wholesale adoption of ethanol-type alternate fuels is worrying. If America switched to corn-based ethanol tomorrow South America would starve. There's not enough corn for both El Norte's tank and the rest of the continent's stomachs...

How many miles per gallon?!?

Spotted this link in Dion Hinchcliffe's del.icio.us list.

He suggests it's another great example of brands using social software thinking to co-create with customers.

It is interesting to see a major corporation forgoing domain ownership (the site uses the vsocial.com platform) and it does reinforce the idea that somebody is giving GM some pretty good advice in the internet culture department.

But hot damn! 30 miles per gallon highway and that's a standard? Surely in 2007 that figure represents basic, minimum performance?!?

This is good:-)
